Rally Italia Sardegna in Jari-Matti Latvala's words
«I cannot wait to be in Sardinia to prepare the rally. It is going to be a tough and challenging race featuring nearly 400 timed kms and two stages that I really like a lot. Weather could be really hot. Jari-Matti Latvala is in Finland to get some rest after winning the Rally of Portugal last weekend and is really very motivated. «It is a good victory - continued Volkswagen's driver -, the first of this season. After the race I run a series of development tests on tarmac in Germany, close to VW headquarters in Hannover and then I headed back home. I am still a bit tired as I had to keep the concentration high in Portugal, but the feeling has been great. A lot of people was very close to me, happiness exploded from my fans and people talked a lot about my victory on the gravel of Portugal, especially in Finland, even if F.1 was on track in Montecarlo on the same weekend which took some visibility off the rally.

Jari-Matti is now getting ready for the next world rally championship round of Sardinia. «As always, I train from home and training is followed by relax sessions and meetings with my "mental coach". This coming week Volkswagen will start three testing days in Sardinia, a race that I will start from P5. This is quite good, as the first one normally swipes the line, the second loses a bit of time, then from the third up the situation keeps improving, therefore being fifth is great. My target is to drive in Sardinia as I did last Sunday in Portugal, pushing hard while using my head». Latvala also had a thought for his Italian fans. «I wish to say hello to my numerous Italian fans, especially to Sardinia's ones that have always been close to me. I am happy on being back to Alghero, a nice town, the race is going to be nice and tight. Who knows what it will bring... it would be great to repeat the victory obtained there in 2009».
